"There is a new face this season on "CSI:NY" and it comes from Maine"
Her name is Anna Belknap, and she is fast becoming a regular on crime and legal drama television shows. Born and raised in Damariscotta, she graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont and received her masters in fine arts degree from the American Conservatory Theater.
Her acting career started onstage but her career in on-screen homicide investigation took off in the late 1990s when she picked up a role on "Homicide: Life on the Street."
After that she found roles on NBC's "Law & Order," "Deadline" and "Without a Trace." She was cast as the character Lily in the 2003 drama series "The Handler" and then she co-starred in NBC's "Medical Investigation" last year.
This is her first year on the hit CBS crime scene investigation series. There, she works alongside seasoned actor Gary Sinise, playing Lindsay Monroe, whom CBS describes as "a young, athletic and eager to please CSI."
When she isn't investigating crime on the computer, she likes to visit these Web sites.
Here are some of her favorite Web sites:
weboggle.shackworks .com : "I am slightly embarrassed to admit that I am a Boggle fanatic. This is an online version, and I can play at the same time as my mother 3,000 miles away, and compete against her. My husband and I are rather addicted to this." www.websudoku.com: "Another crazy game Web site where I can easily waste an hour. Sudoku puzzles are like crosswords with numbers."
www.ultimateguitar.com: "I am learning to play the guitar, and my brother turned me onto this site, which has guitar chords for practically every song ever written. It's amazing."
www.80smusiclyrics.com: "The name is a little deceiving, but this site has a great collection of '80s video games - Frogger, Pacman, Asteroids, etc. It's so fun, and seeing those old, really bad computer graphics makes me feel like a kid again."
www2.midcoast.com/~cw/dama1.html: "In my hometown of Damariscotta, someone set up a camera that takes a picture every five minutes, so all of us who are far away can see how our little town is doing! At least I can see the leaves change on screen!"
