My favorite hypothetical weekend
Carmine Giovinazzo interview
"My Favorite Hypothetical Weekend"
I know I'm not the only LAT reader who looks forward to learning about the leisure habits of minor celebrities in the Thursday Calendar column 'My Favorite Weekend.' Who knew there were so many places in SoCal to order Eggs Benedict? This week's My-Favorite-Weekender is 'CSI: NY' star Carmine Giovinazzo, who takes a slightly unusual M.F.W. tack:
I've been here since 1997, but I really don't know Malibu from Venice, so I might like to go by the ocean on a Friday night and hang out.
After that, I'd go see Lou Reed at a live show. He's a real storyteller with his songs.
I'd love to go out to the ballpark and see the Dodgers and Mets, or the Dodgers and Yankees if they had interleague play.
On Sunday morning I'd just go down on 3rd Street and treat myself to eggs Benedict. Then maybe I'd take a bike ride. I don't have a bike yet, but I keep telling myself I'll buy one and ride all around the Hollywood Hills.
To recap: He'd go to the ocean, even though he doesn't care enough about the ocean to know where Malibu is. Then he'd see Lou Reed, if Lou Reed happens to be playing in LA, which the fishbowlLA statistics department tells me happens once every 867 nights. Then maybe he'd go to a baseball game, if there happens to be a Dodgers-Yankees World Series. Then he'd take a bike ride, if he ever gets around to acquiring a bike.
Next Thursday: how Arturo Bandini would spend his weekend, if he existed
